Janet Duchesneau
Glassworks
Janet's work is highly refined, wheel-thrown porcelain, decorated with colorful Macro-Crystalline glazes, and is very rich in visual interest.
For success the entire process is very complicated. The composition of the glaze is very crucial, requiring large amounts of silica, zinc, & titanium, forming crystals of Wellemite. Equally critical are the firing and cooling cycles of the glazed pieces; exact temperatures and timing are of essence. Janet's kiln is fired to 2300 degrees, then cooled slowly to allow the crystals to grow.
Due to the nature of the glaze, no two pieces are exactly alike. All pieces are lead free.
